MACO hardware is a full range of the highest quality from a single source. Including drive gear, rollers, gasket tracks and thresholds. The hardware is suitable for moving sash weights up to 400 kg in PVC, timber and timber/aluminium. Product innovations include the revolutionary retractable locking hooks and flush striker plates. Other new features in addition to frameless fixed glazing include very narrow timber profiles, also available for very large-format doors with a sash height up to 3600 mm and a sash weight up to 300 kg.

The hardware components

Concealed steel hook drive gear

Nothing interrupts your view, there are no protruding locking parts, everything is smooth and even. This is because the steel locking hooks only emerge and pull the lift&slide sash to the frame when the door is closed – at all other times they are concealed. This also prevents any risk of injury. The finishing touch comes in the form of striker plates to match the colour of the frames.

Locking monitoring

The new locking monitoring provides a sense of maximum security. It reliably indicates whether the lift&slide unit is open or locked. This data is transferred to smart home solutions or heating control systems, for example. If it is transmitted to alarm systems, then the units can be electronically secured, even when the residents are away – so your customers can put burglars to flight

Silicone sash gasket

Not only does the new silicone sash gasket provide improved, permanent impermeability thanks to its durable, temperature-resistant material, it also optimises operation by noticeably reducing the closing pressure and minimising any noise during opening and closing. Its shape, which is adapted to suit the corner, is unique on the market: for the first time in the window industry, a special process has made it possible to also connect silicone seals permanently in the corners. This means that MACO is the first company to supply silicone gaskets on lift&slide units.

Narrow timber frames

Maximum daylight and glass-dependent optimal U values are benefits in terms of both comfort and energy balance. Thanks to the narrow friezes, users enjoy the advantages of a movable glass front and the frame takes a back seat. Lift&slide doors become design elements in the room. Both the standard lift&slide hardware and steel hook drive gear can be integrated into either timber or timber/aluminium profiles from a height of 76 mm.

Rollers

A two-part (in total four-wire) roller set is used for each sash unit. A brush is located on each roller. These brushes sweep the dirt from the roller track with every movement, thus permanently ensuring smooth running. Additional rollers are recommended for a sash weight above 250 kg. Thanks to their suspension system, they can handle an additional 80 kg sash weight each.

PVC multi-chamber gasket track

Two opposite rail bodies accommodate a single external sealing strip and an internal bubble gasket. The external sealing strip effectively combats driving rain and strong winds. The bubble gasket forms the primary seal. The gasket track can be mounted vertically and horizontally on extremely narrow timber and timber-aluminium systems with a 28 mm gap. It can accommodate sash tolerances of +/- 3 mm.

Frameless fixed glazing

If the lift&slide solution is manufactured in timber-aluminium, frameless fixed glazing can be used. This enables the maximum possible glass surface. More glass benefits the thermal performance of the overall unit. It is well known that glazing offers superior U values compared with a frame. The extended glass front also improves sound insulation properties. If the building owner also opts for shatter-proof glass, they will also be able to enjoy optimised protection against burglary as well as excellent thermal and sound insulation.
