The glass etching process

Glass etching is the process of opacifying the glass surface for ornamental purposes. This can be done mechanically, by spraying a jet of fine particles, named abrasive blasting, or chemically, by special substances with a strong corrosive effect, named acid etching.

Glass etching using modern equipment

The skill of our team and the high-performance sandblasting machines, with a computerized control system, which precisely controls the quantity, pressure and duration of the spraying of the abrasive material, ensure the faithful creation, on the surface of the glass, of the desired designs.

To improve stain resistance, sandblasted glass can be treated with special solutions.

In the case of laminated glass panels, the sandblasting effect can also be obtained by using a film with a matte effect, this panel being much more resistant to dirt.
